Check Driving Licence Online – Application & DL Status
Checking your Driving Licence status in India is now more convenient through online services provided by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). These digital services allow users to access available licence information without needing to visit an RTO for routine enquiries for Check Driving Licence Online.
Whether you have recently applied for a driving licence, want to verify your licence details, or need to find information related to an existing DL, you can use the official Parivahan portal. This guide explains different ways to check your Driving Licence status, verify licence details, and access available DL information online.
Check Driving Licence Status Online
Check your driving licence status online and track your application progress through the Parivahan Sewa portal. Follow these simple steps:
- Visit the Parivahan Sewa portal.
- On the homepage, open the Online Services menu and click on Driving Licence Related Services to continue.
Note: This will take you to the Sarathi Parivahan portal, where all driving licence-related services are managed.
- Select State: Select the state where you applied for your driving licence.
- Check Application Status: After selecting your state, a new page will open with driving licence online services. Click on “Application Status” to continue.
Enter Required Details
On the Application Status page, provide the following information:
- Application Number: The unique ID you received when you submitted your driving licence (DL) application.
- Date of Birth: Enter your date of birth in the specified format.
- Captcha Code: Type the captcha shown on the screen to verify you are not a robot.
Submit and Check Status:
Once you’ve filled in all the required details, click on the Submit button. Your application status will appear on the screen, showing:
- The current stage of your application (e.g., Under Process, Approved, or Rejected)
- Your driving test result status (if applicable)
- Driving Licence (DL) dispatch details, including the dispatch date and tracking information (if issued)
Check Driving Licence by Name and Date of Birth
If you’ve forgotten your driving licence application number, you can easily recover it using your name and date of birth through the Parivahan Sewa portal. The process is simple and only takes a few minutes.
Start by visiting the official website and selecting “Driving Licence Related Services.” Then choose the state where your licence was issued.
Next, go to the top menu, click on “Others,” and select “Find Application Number.”
On the new page, fill in the required details carefully:
- Enter your name exactly as it appears on your government ID
- Provide your date of birth in the correct format
- Add the mobile number linked to your application
- Select your state and the RTO where you applied
- Enter the captcha code for verification
After submitting the form, your application number will be displayed on the screen.
After putting in all the information, click “Submit“. Your application number and related driving licence details will be shown.
Check Driving Licence by DL Number
If you want to verify and check driving licence details using your DL number, you can easily do it online through the Parivahan Sewa portal; there’s no need to visit the RTO.
Simply visit the Parivahan website and navigate to the Driving Licence Services section. From there, open the “Licence Menu” and select “Search Related Application.”
- Enter the following details on the search page:
- Your Driving Licence Number
- Your Date of Birth
- The Captcha Code shown on the screen
- After entering the data, your driving licence details will be shown on screen. This may include licence status, validity period, issue date, and vehicle class allowed.
Searching Driving Licence by Name and Address
If you’ve lost your driving licence but still remember your personal details, you can easily retrieve your licence information using the Advanced Search feature on the Parivahan Sewa Portal.
- Start by visiting the Parivahan website and selecting Driving Licence Related Services, then choose your state from the list.
- After that, go to the menu bar, click on Others, and select DL Search to proceed.
- Select the DL Search option. You may need to enter details in this method, such as:
- Address
- Blood Group
- Gender
- After submitting the required data and captcha code, click on “Search“.
- Your driving licence details will appear on the screen, and you can print or save them for future use.

Use Offline Method
- Visit your nearest Regional Transport Office (RTO).

- If you have used RTO services before, your information is usually already stored in their records.
